The Douglas County Republican Central Committee has announced the creation of a special event and fundraiser for all Republicans to come celebrate in cowboy and Hawaiian style.
The Grassroots Cowboy Luau will be held Saturday, June 29th at Melrose Vineyards.
Douglas County Commissioner Tom Kress will be the emcee. Music will be provided by the Homemade Jam Duo. Sheriff John Hanlin will be the speaker. A number of local GOP lawmakers will participate in a pie bake off competition.
The menu includes a Pig in a Pit with Polynesian sauce, Hawaiian chicken, tri-tip, sticky rice, Polynesian macaroni salad, pineapple upside-down cake and Hawaiian rolls. Tickets are $50 per person with a table for 8 costing $400. A sponsor table is $600.
