Winston Police jailed a man for an alleged theft from a store on Wednesday.

A WPD report said at approximately 1:20 p.m. officers were dispatched to the business on Southeast Main Street regarding a man allegedly shoplifting a beer and then walking down the street with a butterfly type knife.

After an investigation, the 39-year-old was arrested. He was charged with third-degree theft and being a felon in possession of a restricted weapon. The man was detained without bail and was released Thursday morning.
