UNDER 22 PERCENT OF LOCAL BALLOTS HAVE BEEN RECEIVED AS OF LATE MONDAY

May 21, 2024 3:40 a.m.

21.78 percent, or 19,446 of Douglas County ballots have been received for the May Presidential Primary Election as of late Monday.

County Clerk Daniel Loomis said that lags 11.15 percent behind the participation rate for the same point in the 2020 Primary Election.

Loomis said Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. is the election deadline. There is no provision in Oregon law to accept ballots with a postmark dated after Election Day. Loomis said voters can use one of the fifteen official ballot drop sites until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and be assured their ballot will be received and counted.
