A Riddle man was jailed for an alleged strangulation and menacing incident on Wednesday.

An Oregon State Police report said just before 8:00 a.m. a victim called in and said the incident had occurred up Highway 138E around Wright Creek and Medicine Creek. The victim claimed she was assaulted by 45-year-old Courtney Mitchell and identified him for law enforcement.

Mitchell was eventually contacted and taken into custody. He was charged with strangulation, menacing and coercion. Mitchell was detained on $10,000 bail.
