A Tenmile man was jailed for felony assault and other charges following an incident on Sunday night.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said just before 9:00 p.m. multiple witnesses observed 41-year-old Trevor Case driving recklessly away from a residence in the 1000 block of Strickland Canyon Road before crashing his vehicle. The wreck allegedly happened at a high rate of speed.

Case fled from the accident with a clearly injured juvenile. Witnesses asked if he wanted them to call for help, and he said no as he left the scene. Case and the juvenile were picked up by individuals in another vehicle and quickly hidden away at a property where no one called authorities or sought medical treatment for the juvenile.

When he was eventually contacted, Case was reportedly uncooperative and clearly intoxicated. He was ultimately taken into custody. Along with fourth-degree felony assault, Case was charged with a felony count of failure to perform the duties of a driver to injured persons, reckless driving, recklessly endangering another person, and driving while suspended-misdemeanor. Case was detained without bail.
