Winston Police jailed a man following a pursuit on Friday.

A WPD report said just after 7:30 p.m. an officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 100 block of Hoover Hill Road. The driver failed to yield until the vehicle got a flat tire in the 1500 block of the same road.

The driver, identified as 44-year-old David Scheler of Winston, was taken into custody and was found to have four outstanding warrants for his arrest. He was charged with attempting to elude police in a vehicle and for the warrants. Bail was set at $20,000.
