CITY AND COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSIONS TO HAVE JOINT MEETING

May 1, 2024 3;30 a.m.

The City of Roseburg Planning Commission and the Douglas County Planning Commission are having a joint meeting on Monday evening at 6:00 p.m.

This is regarding the Urban Growth Boundary Swap application being made by the city.

City staff is recommending the proposal move forward. That would include amending the UGB by removing the Serafin and Atkinson properties from the boundary and adding Charter Oaks property to the UGB. Staff also recommends de-annexing the first two properties from the city, and taking other actions outlined in the plan.

From the city’s side, the decision will have to be approved by the city council. On the county side, any decision could be overruled by the county commissioners.

Twenty-four letters of support for the plan have been received along with one letter of concern.

The meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the Roseburg city hall council chambers on Southeast Douglas Avenue.

The meeting will can be seen the day after it takes places on the city’s website: www.cityofroseburg.org.
