ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN FOR SECOND-DEGREE THEFT

Roseburg Police jailed a man on the charge of second-degree theft on Tuesday.

An RPD report said at 12:10 p.m. officers responded to a business in the 2400 block of Northwest Stewart Parkway regarding an employee theft. Loss Prevention had an ongoing investigation with the employee, who has been suspected of stealing for several months. The 57-year-old was observed on surveillance Tuesday, allegedly concealing items in his locker.

The man was contacted and admitted to the theft and for stealing in excess of $800 worth of merchandise from the store over the last several months.

He was also charged with a parole violation and was detained on $4,000 bail.
