A Winston semi-truck driver was arrested after a DUII hit and run crash on Sunday afternoon in Lane County.
A Eugene Police Department report just before 5:00 p.m. EPD units responded to a hit and run where a semi-truck allegedly struck a vehicle at the intersection of Crescent Avenue and Coburg Road. The driver reportedly got out of the semi, appeared intoxicated and left the scene headed east on foot.
The second vehicle was damaged after the semi reportedly ran a four-way stop. The driver, later identified as 66-year-old Roger Lavern Dale, also allegedly caused damage to a fence, tree, and masonry work nearby.
K9 Officer Jake Thomas and Ayk responded to the scene. The team located Dale hiding behind a trash dumpster in the 2800 block of Crescent Avenue. After an investigation, Dale was arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail on charges of DUII, reckless driving, and hit and run-property damage.
The driver of the other vehicle hit did not require medical transport from the scene.
