LAKESIDE MAN DIES IN RECENT VEHICLE VERSUS PEDESTIAN ACCIDENT

A Lakeside man died in a recent freeway vehicle versus pedestrian accident.

An Oregon State Police report said on Tuesday March 12th just after 5:20 a.m. troopers responded to the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 just north of the Edenbower Boulevard Exit 127 interchange in north Roseburg.

A preliminary investigation indicated that a pickup operated by a Myrtle Creek man, was merging onto the freeway when it struck 47-year old Christopher Zeutzious , who was crossing the on-ramp.

Zeutzious was pronounced deceased at the scene. The operator of the pickup was not injured.

The highway was impacted for approximately four hours during the on-scene investigation. OSP was assisted by Roseburg Fire, Roseburg Police Department and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
