A Yoncalla man was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle on Monday.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said on a prior date the pickup was called in as abandoned in the 300 block of Oak Street in Yoncalla. An employee of Enterprise Rentals said the man had rented the vehicle through insurance and was supposed to return it on February 7th. The company sent a demand letter, and attempted to call the man but got no response. The vehicle was entered as stolen by the Eugene Police Department on March 1st.

The man called a local Enterprise office to notify them where the pickup was parked. A deputy contacted a family member who advised that she let the suspect borrow her vehicle and that he was probably in the Cottage Grove area. The man was contacted and taken into custody. He was detained without bail.
