WARMEST DAY OF THE YEAR WITH RECORD HIGH SET FOR MONDAY

Roseburg saw the warmest day of the year so far on Monday, and also set a new record high for the date.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said the mercury reached 80 degrees at the Roseburg Regional Airport. That occurred at 5:19 p.m. The previous record high for the date was 79 degrees, set in 1939.

The 80-degree high beat out the recent warmest days of the year, which were 77 degrees on Saturday and 71 degrees on Friday.

A change in the weather begins Tuesday with the high forecast to drop ten degrees to 70. Temperatures lower to the 60s for Wednesday through Friday before dropping to the 50s starting Saturday. There is a chance of rain beginning Thursday, with rain likely from Saturday through the end of the month.
