Roseburg Police jailed a man for an alleged theft incident on Sunday night.

An RPD report said just after 6:00 p.m. officers observed 40-year-old Edward Green run out of the emergency exit of a business in the 1300 block of Southeast Stephens Street. This set off the fire alarm to the business. Green had two large bags in his hands. Officers contacted the suspect and he admitted to stealing items worth nearly $140.

Green was charged with first-degree criminal trespass, and second-degree counts of theft and disorderly conduct. He was detained without bail.
