March 13, 2024 9:10 a.m.

Myrtle Creek Police jailed a Roseburg man on sex crimes and other charges early Tuesday.

An MCPD report said just after 1:00 a.m. officers contacted 38-year-old Brian Coulombe in his vehicle in a local park. Detective Kevin Taggart said Coulombe had been under investigation for allegedly agreeing to meet with a juvenile for sexual activity. Taggart said Coulombe was taken into custody without incident. During his arrest the suspect was reportedly found to be in possession of brass knuckles, which he is not allowed to possess due to being a convicted felon.

Taggart said during the investigation it was found that Coulombe allegedly had left his three children alone in his residence while he came to Myrtle Creek. Staff with the Department of Human Services were contacted, and a safety plan was put into place for the man’s children.

Coulombe was taken to the Douglas County Jail and charged with online sexual corruption of a child in the first and second degrees, being a felon in possession of a restricted weapon, and second-degree child neglect. He is detained on $20,000 bail.

Taggart said the investigation is active and ongoing. No further information will be released at this time.
