ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN AFTER DUMPSTER FIRE WAS SPOTTED

Roseburg Police jailed a man after a dumpster fire was spotted early Sunday morning.

An RPD report said at 3:00 a.m. officers responded to a business in the 1100 block of Northeast Stephens Street after a caller said there was a fire. A 34-year-old man was contacted as he was walking away from the fire.

Firefighters on the scene confirmed the man was the suspect. He allegedly refused to stop for officers and was taken into custody after a brief fight. The man was charged with reckless burning and for a parole violation and was detained on $6,250.
