Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office jailed a transient after an alleged incident on Monday night.
A DCSO report said at 6:15 p.m. the 36-year-old was in the courthouse on Southeast Douglas Avenue in downtown Roseburg an hour after the building had closed for public access. The woman ended up in the records department stating she was attempting to get records from the death investigation of a relative. All the questions that she had that could have been answered were answered. The woman was reportedly told to leave the building and contact the Medical Examiner’s office when they were on duty.
A few minutes later the suspect was still in the department, allegedly continuing to argue with staff. A deputy contacted her and told her several times that she had to leave, or she would be arrested. The woman talked over the deputy and refused.
She was eventually taken into custody and charged with second-degree criminal trespass. The woman was detained without bail.
