Roseburg Police jailed a man for an alleged unlawful entry and theft incident on Thursday.

An RPD report said a 35-year-old suspect allegedly stole a purse and cellphone out of a victim’s vehicle then demanded money from the victim over the phone if she wanted to get the purse back. The man was located in the 700 block of Southeast Mosher Avenue at 11:00 a.m. and taken into custody. He was charged with unlawful entry into a vehicle and first-degree theft. The man was detained on $7,500 bail.
