Roseburg Police jailed a man on a felony count of strangulation on Tuesday morning.

An RPD report said just after 9:40 a.m. officers responded to a residence in the 800 block of Northeast Nash Street after a caller said there was a disturbance at that location.

Officers interviewed the residents. The victim indicated that she was strangled by 31-year-old Justin Garcia, after an argument. The victim had noticeable redness on her neck, consistent with being strangled. During the incident, the victim’s young children were reportedly in the home and awake.

Garcia was taken into custody and detained on $50,000 bail.
