The Umpqua Fishery Enhancement Derby takes place next Wednesday through Saturday.

Student events include:

*Students’ Day Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Rock Creek Recreational Area

*Kids’ Day Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Cooper Creek Reservoir near Sutherlin

Derby events include:

*Team/guides crab feed and social Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the floral building of the fairgrounds. Registration and the oyster bar will open at 5:00 p.m.

*Team and guides mandatory meeting Friday at 6:30 a.m. at the fairgrounds followed by fishing on the North, South, and mainstem Umpqua Rivers from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife check-in to record team scores is at 4:30 p.m.

*Saturday is the same schedule with an awards ceremony and pizza party from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Friday the Derby Banquet and Auction takes place in Douglas Hall at the fairgrounds. The oyster bar opens at 4:30 p.m. with a social, silent auction and raffle starting at 5:00 p.m. The buffet dinner is at 6:00 p.m. followed by the program and live auction from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
