The Interstate 5 northbound off-ramp at Exit 125, Garden Valley Boulevard, is scheduled to be closed next Sunday, Monday and Tuesday nights, January 28th-30th for construction.
Dan Latham of the Oregon Department of Transportation said a three-mile detour will be provided those nights from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Latham said northbound freeway traffic can continue north and use Exit 127, Edenbower Boulevard, to turn around and approach the Garden Valley interchange from the southbound direction.
On Sunday night, contractors will install guardrail along the ramp. The following two nights are scheduled for paving, which is weather dependent, and could be postponed due to rain. Roadside message boards are in place and will provide updated closure information.
Latham said the closures are part of a $2.4 million project that will add a dedicated right-turn lane to the northbound off-ramp, helping to ease congestion and improve safety at the interchange. The project will also replace the traffic signal and upgrade sidewalk curb ramps.
Prime contractor Knife River Materials is scheduled to complete work this summer.
