Covering coastal Douglas County:

One person was taken to the hospital after a single vehicle wreck on Sunday night.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said just before 8:45 p.m. the 18-year old woman was driving south on North Fork Smith River Road in the Reedsport area, when her vehicle went off the road and into a ditch. Airbags deployed and the driver was seen at the hospital for a complaint of neck pain.

The crash occurred during heavy rain, which limited driving visibility. It appeared that the front tire got off the pavement in a curve and pulled the vehicle into the ditch. The vehicle was removed from the scene.
