The Oregon State University Extension Service has a Master Food Preserver Workshop happening on Saturday February 17th from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Pine Grove Community Church on Buckhorn Road.
“Canicopia: Steam and Pressure Canning” is the topic. Master Food Preservers will guide participants in safe practices as they receive hands-on training in pressure canning chicken and steam canning sweet and sour pickled cauliflower. Attendees will enjoy samples and leave with an informational booklet and their completed goodies.
Pressure canners should have their gauges tested annually. Community members are invited to bring their pressure canner lids to the workshop, so food preservers can make sure they are accurate and safe.
