Roseburg Police jailed man for a felony count of failure to register as a sex offender on Tuesday.
An RPD report said at 8:10 p.m. an officer stopped a 35-year old man near the intersection of Northeast Airport Road and Northeast Exchange Drive after seeing the vehicle’s registration had expired in 2018. The driver’s privileges were suspended-violation since 2021 and he did not have insurance for the vehicle. The driver was also a registered sex offender and had allegedly not registered since March of 2022.
He was arrested and taken to corrections. On the way, the man admitted to having methamphetamine in his sock. The drugs were weighed as 19.2 grams. He was also charged with a felony count of unlawful possession of meth. The man was cited for driving while suspended.
He was detained without bail.
