The Oregon Department of Transportation reports that Interstate 5 northbound is closed about 12 miles north of Eugene as of 4:00 a.m.

This is due to a commercial motor vehicle crash. ODOT says it may take several hours to reopen the highway due to slippery road conditions across the region. Low temperatures are forecast to persist this weekend, so drivers should expect icy conditions. ODOT recommends that drivers delay their trip if possible.
