UMPQUA NATIONAL FOREST PAUSING WEEKLY TRAIL WORK

January 12, 2024 10:40 a.m.

Due to the deterioration of favorable weather and safe working conditions, staff with the Umpqua National Forest will be pausing weekly trail work on the North Umpqua Trail.

Trail Lead in the North Zone, Coltyn Kidd said in the spring when soil saturation and the frequency of dead trees falling have returned to normal, they will begin their normal seasonal operations with volunteer events every third Saturday of the month from April to October.

Kidd said upcoming training opportunities include a January 21st volunteer saw course. To RSVP for that class, email: wayne.chevalier@usda.gov
