On Monday, Glide Revitalization opened Little Loggers Playschool in Glide.

Glide Revitalization Program Director Kendall Melvin said the program is tailored to the working families of the Glide area. Kendall said that earlier drop off times and later pickups ensure commuting parents don’t have to stress. It is open weekdays from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The schedule includes free play in the morning followed by a structured lesson called circle time. A provided snack is next which leads into a group activity time where nature walks and building blocks would come into play. Melvin said lunch and a rest time is next. The day is finished with book reading, dramatic play activities and that day’s lesion plan. Melvin said play activities are directly related to the theme of being a logging and timber town. That can include walks in nature, building activities, foliage-based art and more.

The school is currently located in the Glide Revitalization Building on Glide Loop Drive. It will move to another location, once that building is renovated.

Currently Little Loggers can enroll up to 20 kids between ages 3 and 5. Enrollment is currently open with spots available.
