A trooper with Oregon State Police responded when a van struck a commercial motor vehicle on Interstate 5 north of Roberts Mountain on Tuesday.

An OSP report said at approximately 11:10 a.m. the van was northbound in the middle lane of travel near the Highway 42 exit when a vehicle apparently changed lanes into its path and force the driver to swerve to the right. After going into the right-lane, it rear-ended the semi which was hauling a trailer.

Both vehicles pulled onto the right shoulder. The front of the van was damaged and had to be towed from the scene. Neither the semi nor the trailer was damaged.
