HIGH CASCADE PASSES HAVE REOPENED AS OF WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON

January 10, 2024 1:50 p.m.

The High Cascade passes near Diamond Lake and Crater Lake have reopened as of early Wednesday afternoon after being closed since early in the day.

An update from the Oregon Department of Transportation said this includes OR 62 from Union Creek to Crater Lake National Park west boundary, OR 230 from Union Creek to the intersection with OR 138E and OR 138E between OR 230 and U.S. 97. While the roads are open, travel may still be difficult due to changing weather conditions.

Those who choose to travel, should be prepared for chain restrictions and should watch for snow plows and workers in the area. Drivers should carry emergency supplies.
