DOUGLAS ELECTRIC HAS 1,100 METERS WITHOUT POWER AS OF 3:15 A.M. WEDNESDAY

Douglas Electric Cooperative has 1,100 meters without power as of 3:15 a.m. Wednesday.

Chief Operating Officer Phil Bigler said the outage is primarily in the Scottsburg and Elkton areas, due to a transmission line failure. Bigler said crews are working on the problem, but currently do not have an estimate for restoration. Portions of this line are off-road and in current conditions, it may take some time to locate the fault and make repairs.

There are also a few smaller outages farther east along Highway 38 between Dean’s Creek Road and Brandy Bar landing. A handful of members on Bell Lane in the Reedsport area are also without power.
