City of Roseburg buildings will be closed next Monday January 15th, for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
That means Roseburg City Hall, the Public Safety Center, Roseburg Public Library and other city buildings will not be open to the public. Police and firefighters will continue to provide public safety throughout the holiday.
It is in honor of the Reverend Martin Luther King Jr., the civil rights leader and Nobel Peace Prize winner. King was assassinated on April 4th, 1968, as he stood on a hotel balcony in Memphis, Tennessee. He was 39 years of age.
Lobbies at city hall and the Public Safety Center, both on Southeast Douglas Avenue, are normally open weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The buildings are closed for lunch from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
