ROAD CLOSURE ANTICIPATED DUE TO CONN-FORD BRIDGE PROJECT IN MELROSE

A section of Melrose Road may be closed in Melrose later this month.

Information from the Oregon Department of Transportation said that between January 15th-19th, Melrose Road is tentatively scheduled to be closed at the Conn-Ford Bridge project so the contractor can place beams on the new bridge. Traffic will detour along Old Melrose Road, West Harvard Avenue, Northwest Stewart Parkway and Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard.

The two-year project will replace the 1964 bridge, which spans the South Umpqua River on Melrose Road about a mile west of Roseburg. This project is part of a two-bridge bundle that also includes replacing a bridge in Oakland.

More information about the closure will be released once the dates are firmed up. As with any large construction project, timing is always subject to change.
