Douglas County Fire District No. 2 responded to a structure fire early Sunday morning in Roseburg.
According to a press release, fire crews were dispatched just after 4 a.m. to a residence on West Military Avenue. Crews reportedly found a medium sized shop that was fully involved and threatening other nearby structures.
The fire was extinguished, but the shop and its contents were a total loss. A camp trailer parked nearby suffered minor heat damage, according to the release.
Douglas County Fire District No. 2 officials were unable to determine the cause of the fire due to the extent of the damage, but they say it’s believed the fire started from a possible electrical issue from a nearby chicken coop.
Douglas County Fire District No.2 responded with three fire engines, one water tender and one command vehicle. Fire crews were assisted by Lookingglass Fire department, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Roseburg Police and PP&L.
