A garage fire led to a roof collapse on Tuesday morning, southeast of Winston.
Information from the Winston-Dillard Fire District said shortly before 6:00 a.m. crews were dispatched to the 12000 block of Old Highway 99 South, for a reported garage fire.

First arriving firefighters noted heavy smoke and fire from the front and right side of a detached garage. Shortly after getting to the scene, the roof collapsed on the building. Fire crews made an aggressive attack, preventing the fire from spreading. The fire was contained to the garage. The building and its contents were a total loss.
The exact cause of the fire was undetermined after an initial investigation. The fire’s cause was difficult to conclude, due to the extent of the fire damage in the area of origin. WDFD was assisted by Douglas County Fire District No. 2 and the Myrtle Creek Fire Department.
