A Winston man was cited following a traffic crash Thursday night.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at approximately 9:00 p.m. the 21-year old was allegedly seen racing his sports car and revving its engine in the 400 block of Dillard Gardens Road in the Dillard area. The man reportedly was likely having the vehicle do doughnuts as it sped back towards Highway 99 South.

The driver lost control of the vehicle and it hit a wooden fence and a concrete style fence, destroying it. The suspect claimed his vehicle was going between 50 and 60 miles per hour. Tire tracks showed that the sports car was doing doughnuts prior to the crash with the tire tracks leading to the accident.

The man was cited for reckless driving. His vehicle was towed from the scene.
