DENSE FOG ADVISORY THROUGH 10:00 A.M. THURSDAY

December 21, 2023 3:50 a.m.

A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect through 10:00 a.m. Thursday for much of southern Oregon.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said visibility of less than a quarter of a mile in dense fog is expected.

The Advisory area includes central Douglas County, Josephine County and eastern Curry County. It applies to the cities of Roseburg, Winchester, Sutherlin, Umpqua, Green, Grants Pass, Merlin and Wilderville.

Forecasters said that hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility are likely.

Drivers should slow down and allow for plenty of room between their vehicle and other vehicles. Fog makes objects appear farther way than they are. Drivers should use low beams. Don’t use cruise control as most crashes occur when a driver is going too fast for weather conditions.
