A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect through 10:00 a.m. Sunday for parts of southern Oregon.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said visibility of one quarter of a mile or less in dense fog is expected, which may lead to deteriorating air quality.

The Advisory area includes the valleys of Douglas and Josephine counties including the cities of Sutherlin, Winchester, Roseburg, Grants Pass, Merlin, Selma, Wilderville and Illinois Valley.

Forecasters said hazardous driving conditions is expected due to low visibility. Localized freezing fog is possible, mainly in the Merlin area and portions of the Illinois Valley in Josephine County. This may result in slippery roads, especially on bridges.

Drivers should slow down, use their headlights and leave plenty of distance ahead of their vehicle.
