Sutherlin Police jailed two people found with a stolen vehicle on Tuesday.

An SPD report said a 38-year old man and a 32-year old woman had rented a U-Haul truck but had not returned it even though their reservation had expired two days earlier. They had allegedly ignored calls from the rental company and the woman’s debit card was no longer working for the accruing charges to go through.

The vehicle was located shortly after 5:10 p.m. in the 1000 block of West Central Avenue. The man was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle while the woman was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Both were detained without bail.
