The Umpqua Valley Wine Growers Association has announced that the 52nd annual Greatest of the Grape event will take place on Saturday February 3rd from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

A UVWA release said the Greatest of the Grape is known as “Oregon’s oldest wine celebration” and attracts visitors from all over the northwest. It will be the non-profit organization’s largest fundraiser of the year.

This year’s event returns to Seven Feathers Casino Resort in Canyonville. Over 15 local wineries will be featured, with most of the wines being poured by the winemakers themselves. Those looking for more time to taste wine and visit with the winemakers can purchase a VIP ticket for early entrance to the event at 5:00 p.m.

Food will be catered by Seven Feathers, with special appetizers created to match the diversity of wines produced in the region. Music artists The Other Band will play a variety of funk, R&B, rock and pop music.

In addition to wine tasting, guests will have the chance to bid on unique wine-related items in the silent auction, and take a spin on the Wheel of Wine.

All attendees can vote for their favorite red and white wines, with awards announced later in the evening.

UVWA Executive Director Ali Rodgers said, “This will be my second Greatest of the Grape with the organization and I can’t tell you how excited we all are that the event is returning to Seven Feathers Casino Resort”. Rodgers said, “We have a long history with Seven Feathers and look forward to building upon that to create Oregon’s most anticipated winter event”.
