2nd District Congressman Cliff Bentz has announced that he will lead a Water, Wildlife, and Fisheries Subcommittee Hearing next Tuesday.

A release from Bentz said the hearing is on what he calls the Biden Administration’s “de-industrializing of America” as it relates to the Lower Snake River Dams and the value they hold to the people of Oregon, Washington, and Idaho.

Bentz said, “The Biden Administration’s ongoing attempt to remove the Lower Snake River Dams is a direct attack on our clean energy production in the Northwest”. Bentz said, “These dams are essential to our energy production, navigation on the Snake River into Idaho, and the agricultural industry. Removing them would be devastating. This hearing will expose the Administration’s reckless and destructive policies and give the people most impacted by them an opportunity to be heard”.

The release said the hearing will feature expert testimony on the economic, environmental, legal and inequitable impacts that would occur if these four dams were removed. Bentz said witnesses will also discuss what he believes is the Biden Administration’s abuse of power in making this decision.
