A tire came off a trailer on Interstate 5 and hit multiple vehicles on Monday night.

An Oregon State Police report said just after 6:35 p.m. a pickup was pulling a small cargo trailer as it headed southbound on the freeway near the Canyon Creek summit. The trailer’s driver side tire came off and became a hazard in the roadway. 3 other southbound vehicles hit the tire and were damaged.

Case numbers were given to the motorists and insurance information was exchanged. The driver with the trailer said he would make arrangements to have it removed from the shoulder of the freeway.
