Roseburg Police jailed a man following an alleged strangulation incident on Monday.

An RPD report said shortly after 1:30 p.m. officers contacted a 19-year old and a victim regarding a disturbance in the 1100 block of Northeast Freemont Avenue. Based on the investigation, the officer found that the suspect had allegedly grabbed the victim and wrapped his arm around her neck and face restricting her ability to breathe.

Preston Wells was charged with a felony count of strangulation. Wells was detained without bail.
