December 4, 2023 10:00 a.m.

A Winchester Bay man was arrested following an overnight alleged incident early Sunday.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 1:45 a.m. 21-year old Phillip Taylor and a victim had been drinking at a residence in the 800 block of Beach Boulevard. After an argument the victim called a friend to pick her up from the home. At some point Taylor reportedly handled a 12-gage shotgun and fired one shotshell through the door. The persons coming to pick up the victim were said to be outside the residence when this happened.

While the victim was seated on a couch, Taylor was not forthcoming with information when he was interviewed by a deputy. The report said nothing the suspect said corroborated with the physical evidence.

Taylor was charged with unlawful use of a weapon, menacing and recklessly endangering another person. He was detained without bail.
