The City of Myrtle Creek will have its tree lighting ceremony “Grand Illumination” this Saturday evening.

It takes place at the intersection of Second Avenue and Main Street. Hot cocoa and cookies will be served starting at 5:30 p.m. with the tree lighting taking place at 6:00 p.m. Mayor Matthew Hald and past Mayor Dan Jacoy will speak at the event. Santa Claus will arrive at the ceremony on a fire engine.

Second Avenue is blocked off to traffic while the tree is up.
