Governor Tina Kotek has announced that Alan R. Gronewold was officially sworn in as The Adjutant General of the Oregon National Guard following an investiture ceremony on Tuesday.
A release from the Governor’s Office said Gronewold was appointed to the position in October.
The ceremony took place in Salem among family, Oregon National Guard representatives including former Adjutants General Major General Raymond F. Rees, and Major General Mike Stencel/
Governor Kotek provided remarks and then administered the oath with assistance from Brigadier General Gronewold’s spouse.
Kotek said, “The Oregon National Guard has distinguished itself many times over in its service to our state in times of need, dedication to supporting federal missions, and commitment to continued excellence in training and readiness for the greatest of challenges”. Kotek said, “I am confident that Brigadier General Gronewold will continue and expand upon this legacy”.
Gronewold said, “The Oregon National Guard is prepared to face any challenge to ensure the safety and security of our great state”. Gronewold said, “We find fulfillment and pride in our service, knowing that we are making a difference to our fellow Oregonians. I am honored to lead the Oregon National Guard”.
