ONE DEAD, ONE WOUNDED, SUSPECT SOUGHT IN RIDDLE HOMICIDE

A Grants Pass man is dead, another is wounded and a suspect is sought following a shooting in Riddle Monday night.

Lieutenant Brad O’Dell of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said shortly after 11:30 p.m. 911 dispatchers received information about the incident which had taken place in the area of Main Street and East Third Avenue. O’Dell said deputies arrived on the scene to learn that one victim, 20-year old Devonte Lovell Clark had died at that location.

A second Grants Pass resident, 29-year old Killian Mavity, sustained a gunshot wound to the arm. Mavity was transported to an undisclosed hospital for treatment of his injuries.

O’Dell said detectives are seeking information as to the whereabouts of 19-year old Gauge Douglas James Main of Riddle. Main left the scene of the shooting after allegedly stealing a silver 2017 Honda Civic 4-door sedan, with Oregon license plate 276PAT. Main should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees him or the vehicle is asked to call 911.

O’Dell said the Douglas County Major Crimes Team is investigating the crime, and are being led by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. The team consists of investigators from DCSO, Roseburg Police Department and Oregon State Police working in consultation with the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office.
