Christmas tree permits for the 2023 holiday season are available at the Umpqua National Forest Service ranger stations, and through local vendors.
A UNF release said customers can purchase up to five permits per household at $5 each through December 31st. These permits authorize purchasers to cut their own tree(s) on designated Forest Service lands. Maps identifying these areas, as well as additional rules and information, will be provided at the time of purchase.
Christmas tree tags are offered on-line with a $2.50 service fee at: https://www.recreation.gov/tree-permits/ef3974f9-ec54-11ea-8045-369699f3be2d. This provides visitors an opportunity to purchase and print permits from their homes.
Fourth grade students that participate in the Every Kid Outdoors program get a free tree tag with their fourth grade pass. Tags can be picked up at any open Umpqua National Forest Ranger Station or online.
A list of local vendors that are selling UNF Christmas tree tags are posted at www.541radio.com
