Roseburg Police jailed a man following an alleged assault on Thursday.

An RPD report said at 5:00 p.m. two men met to talk in the 2500 block of Northeast Stephens Street. The 24-year old reportedly got upset, pushed the victim to the ground and punched him several times. Witness accounts verified the victim’s statement.

The suspect was located later and taken into custody. He was charged with fourth-degree assault. A parole violation charge was added after his parole officer became aware of the investigation. Bail was set at $6,250.
