A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. through Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m. for the south central and southern Oregon Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service said snow above 4,000 feet is expected. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 11 inches with winds gusting as high as 50 miles per hour.
The Advisory area includes Crater Lake and Diamond Lake as well as Highway 58 at Willamette Pass, Highway 62 and Highway 138.
The heaviest snow is expected early Sunday morning. Motorists should plan on slippery road conditions. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches and combine with snow to lower visibility. The total snowfall for the event is expected to be between 8 and 14 inches. Overnight lows on Sunday night are forecast to be in the low 20s and flash freezing may be possible on wet roads.
