A Milwaukie man in a stolen vehicle was jailed after a police pursuit on Wednesday.

An Oregon State Police report said about 9:00 a.m. dispatch advised that a stolen vehicle was traveling north on Interstate 5 and was nearing Douglas County. The pickup was located but failed to stop when a trooper tried to pull it over. The vehicle continued northbound and the pursuit was initially ended.

The pickup was later stopped when it slowed to about 40 miles per hour just north of the Clarks Branch Road exit. This time when the trooper activated the overhead emergency lights on his vehicle, the pickup pulled to the shoulder. 39-year old Nathan Hornocker was taken into custody. He was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, attempting to elude police in a vehicle, and third-degree theft. Hornacker was detained on $10,000 bail.

The registered owner was contacted and the vehicle from towed from the scene.
