Roseburg Police charged a man with second-degree assault following an alleged incident at CHI Mercy Medical Center on Northwest Stewart Parkway early Thursday.

An RPD report said shortly before 2:30 a.m. a 66-year old patient allegedly hit a nurse in the back of the head with his cane while they were in the hallway together. The nurse was reportedly injured in the incident. The man was unable to be discharged from the hospital so the suspect with cited and released on the scene.
